You know Barcelona is full of tourist attractions and today, Desigbarcelona would like to introduce you the Borne Market, an area really beautiful and full of history in the centre of Barcelona.

This building was built in 1876 on the basis of a Catalonian architect project, Josep Fontseré i Mestre. A clear example of iron architecture style, a modern and artistic movement which was really important in Catalonia in the XIX century.

Last February 2002 while there were some works in order to install the facilities of a Provincial Lybrary inside the market some middle age archeological remains were founded and this fact was still more important to promote this place as a tourist attraction.

Nowadays, the Borne Market is still closed. The works are making progress and the idea is to turn the market into a cultural centre which explains the Barcelona life of the XVIII century. The new building will be formed by four areas where there will be permanent expositions and walks near the archeological remains and also it would be possible to see performances as the Grec Festival of Barcelona.

The Borne area has really good friendly atmosphere and life. There are a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and also the awesome gotic church “Santa Maria del Mar”.

• Marilyn Manson. 4 December in the “Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys” at 21.30 h. He will introduce his new album “The High end of low“. Tickets will cost around 35€.
• Martirio. 4 December in “L’Auditori” at 21.30 h. She is almost a national symbol. She’s strong, powerfull and her voice can flow into jazz, flamenco, tango or boleros rhythms.
• Franz Ferdinanz. 5 December in “Pavelló Olímpic de Badalona” at 21.30 h. With their third album on sale this scotish group has became in one of the most important reference in the indie-rock style.
• Chano Dominguez and the Quinteto Flamenco. From th 3rd to the 6th of December. This event owns to 41st International Jazz Festival of Barcelona. Further information here. Tickect will cost around 30€.

Now important sport events:

• 86 Jean Bouin. 29 November. Historic athletic competition since 1920.
• Barcelona F.C vs Real Madrid F.C. 29 November. The spanish football classic match will be at 19.00 h.
• Davis Cup Final. From 4 to 6 December. From Palau Sant Jordi Spain against Czech Republic.

The musical “Chicago” is here!!The show has arrived to Teatro Coliseum in Madrid after 13 succesful years in Broadway and in the London’s West End.

Two ambitious women who have been sent to prison beacause they have committed a crime of passion and they struggle to get help from a man called Billy Flynn, a famous lawyer who uses the yellow press to take his clients out of jail.

Nice event that will be from 27 of November the following days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30pm; Friday and Saturday 6pm and 10pm; Sunday 7pm; Monday 7 December 10pm. Tickets will vary between 20 and 100€ and are on sale through servicaixa.com or entradas.com

Hello people!!

This autumn we will welcome to another edition of “Famenco Festival” in Granada. Because of that, Desigandalucia is going to suggest you some performances that should NOT miss.

Starting the next 26th of November at 21′00 h. in the NH Victoria Hotel. From the balcony of the hotel the Fall Flamenco Festival will be inaugurated.

On 27th, José el Francés will act at 22′00h in “Discoteca Granada” introducing the Flamenco Festival to all of us.

Then, on 3rd of Decemeber, we can attend to the first flamenco and spanish classic for youngs coreographic competition. The competition will show us the new youngs who will be the future of the Flamenco. On 4th of Decemeber, we can enjoy a Flamenco Event called “Salvajes” which is formed by flamenco dancers like Raquel Heredia, Repompilla, Alba Heredia, Verónica la India, Rocío Vargas, Juana la del Revuelo, Rafaela Reyes “La Repompa de Málaga” and much more.

All the flamenco shows will be at “Teatro Isabel la Católica” of Granada and you can buy your tickets there otherwise you can book your tickets by calling at this number 607 58 36 97.

The Fall Flamenco Festival in Granada won’t stop till 8th of December. Every day there will be a Flamenco Show and the tickets price will vary between 10€ – 25€.

Hi everyone, Desigmadrid is happy to tell all of you that Depeche Mode is coming to Madrid. The english band will come the next 16 and 17 November as part of the “Tour of the Universe” to promote their last album!!

As all people know, Depeche Mode are one of the most succesfull, longest-lives bands from early 1980’s. After thousand of hits their new album “Sounds of the Universe“, which retains the familiar dark electro-pop atmosphere with powerful beats, and lyrics that still digress, with black humour, between love and unhealthy sex, religion and human relationships will be a succesfull, we are sure!!

Desigmadrid wants to invite you to the “Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid” where the band will performance twice this week. The concerts will start at 9.30 PM and we can tell you that for the 1st concert’s tickets have sold out!!

We would like to let you feel how’s a Depeche Mode concert live and because of that you can check this video out!!

For the people who can not assist to Depeche Mode’ s concert in Madrid will have one chance more to see them in Spain.  As they will come to Barcelona to present their new album too. So they will play on 20 and 21st in Palau Sant Jordi.

Today I would like to suggest you a nice music event. Nothing better to begin the week that a flamenco – jazz concert by Chano Dominguez and the Flamenco Quintet.

The music of Chano Domínguez commemorates the 50th anniversary of the publication of “Kind of Blue”, the greatest album of Miles Davis. He does this in a very different manner: showing the links between “Kind of Blue” and flamenco. Davis already came close to flamenco with the track “Flamenco Sketches”, Domínguez broadens the repertoire with other classic songs from the album such as “So what” or “Freddie Freeloader” and gives them a flamenco character. Therefore, this combination of improvised jazz and intense skill gives birth to a concert that the pianist from Cadiz and the trio that accompanies him will turn into an album.

So, this beautiful event will take place in Barcelona from the 3rd to 6th of December. The place will be l’Auditori and you can get more information here.

CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporanea de Barcelona)  is coming with a photographic exhibition, Trafic 09. Thanks to CCCB, this exhibition will celebrate his third aniversary.

Tráfic 09 is a forum and platform to build a photographic experience, with different activities and exhibitions the main objetive is encourage  between public and private entities, associations, individuals and professionals to share.
Tráfic 09  is committed to bringing photography to people on the streets during five days of debates, round table discussions, exhibitions and workshops. It is also an interesting sample of national and international photographic proposals.

The program will be structured along four basic lines: monographic screenings (Spanish and international photographers), contributions by photography collectives, participative and specific knowledge workshops, and sharing among different fields of photography: advertising, journalism, fashion, etc.

Desigbarcelona hope you find interesting this event that will be in CCCB from 4 to 11 Novemeber. The timetables are:

Desigmadrid says hello to a new month, November!!And in this month Madrid will celebrate the International Jazz Festival!!This 26th edition will come to Madrid from 4th till 26th Novemeber.

It’s the most awaited musical event, and this time it’ll be opened by one of the most important tenor saxophonists in the world, Joe Lovano, who’s going to perform on November 4 in the Teatro Fernán Gómez (Plaza de Colón, 4). This year the world of Jazz wants to tribute the album “Kind of Blue” of Miles Davis because of that the Festival will have some special concerts which will approach you to the album.

The programmation is amazing.We can find a total of 17 concerts: 12 in the Teatro Fernán Gómez, main and central scenary of the Festival, 2 in Teatro Circo Price…Artist like Toni Zenet, Madeleine Peiroux, Patricia Kraus, Roy Hargrove, Richard Bona will perform in this wonderful festival. There will also be musicians performing on the streets, workshops, presentations of up-and-coming artists and a lot of cinema, with different venues showing films in which the soundtracks stand out on their own, such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Instituto Francés de Madrid, Nov 3) and Breathless (Centro Cultural Nicolás Salmerón, Nov 10).
